too sexy for the catwalk...

It was a glamourous night spent with newfound acquaintances that was as refreshing as bumping into old dear friends, many I haven't seen in ages. The Karilagan reunion of  models and beauty queens during the late 60's and the 70's was like traveling back in time.
Search Amazon.com for vogue magazine
It was an era of high fashion and old school pirouettes. A celebration of designers who set the tone for catwalks and  runways, photoshoots and cover girls in fashion magazines. And why not? Aside from honoring an inspiring woman who made an important mark in the fashion industry, it was a fun-filled party that everyone wished would never end. What a fashionable way to start the year 2010!!

Thrilla in Manila...

Nope. Not boxing. Not about Ali vs Frazier. It's bigger than that. It's New Year's in Manila. A 360 degree view of fireworks seen on a rooftop in metropolitan Makati is a visual delight. A magical exhibition of sights and sounds of the countdown simultaneously happening in Quezon City, Manila, The Fort, Rockwell, Pasig to name a few. Truly a spectacle......to some revelers. For others... like myself and my dog, it's a struggle. My heart leaps each time I hear a blast and my dog gets very nervous. I'm afraid she might even get a heart attack! Do we really need to have it in every corner?  They should stop selling firecrackers and just stick to lusis. Enough of the triangulos, bawang, labintador and the likes. They are dangerous, fatal and toxic to the air we breathe.

So please, can we just have the fireworks display?  It's killing me and my dog!

community blog for TN sufferers

While searching the internet, I chanced upon a community blog of TN sufferers and was moved by the stories they shared. For a change, I was the one listening to the complaints and rants about their headaches and facial pains that I quickly joined  to help and offer support . When I found out from my doctor that I had TN, I was relieved. The last thing you want to hear from your doctor is to say that it's nothing and it will go away, take a couple of aspirins and rest. I immediately searched the internet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARJMQ4zlsrk to learn more of my debilitating pain. My migraine and menopause on top of my TN is too much to bear. I had to recognize the problem and try to take pro-active steps. It will not go away and it can get worse so I had to find a comfort zone with the right cocktail of meds so I can keep my pains in check. I just have to learn how to live with it. It's not easy but I love life too much to give up. Connecting with TN sufferers keeps me sane. As a TN sufferer myself, it's  good to know that you are not alone.

I have nothing to blog about..

Seriously...I have become a blog reader more than a blog writer. There a blogs mostly about themselves and their children, pets, spouses and basically about their family adventures. Photo blogs with loads of pictures after pictures with captions. Blogs about their handicraft and needlework such as knitting and crocheting to name a few. Foodies share their gastronomic dining experiences. Tons of recipes from Indian to vegan, and others share personal issues about dealing with loved ones who are terminal or dealing with their own illness which  I don't intend to blog about only because I already belong in a community of bloggers with TN.....What is there to blog about?

A lot! I just had to look for some inspiration from others who blog effortlessly.
